Monica B- Back from the Beach

I am back! My adventure at the beach has come to an end. Here are some pictures for you.

This is how we started every morning. Walking on the beach, watching the sunrise.

Ahhhh...our morning walk. Here comes the sun.

This is me relaxing in front of the fireplace on the fuzzy rug with my friend Zoey. I was letting her use my back as a pillow.

We had a party! My foster Mom was very proud of me. There were a lot of stangers in the house but I stayed to enjoy myself. Ok, maybe I wasn't having a great time, but I did lay down in the floor instead of running off to hide.

This my new BFF. Her name is Violet. I really enjoyed spending time with her. She is so happy and brave. I had fun following her all over the house. We are from the same hometown, Birmingham, Alabama.

I hope you enjoyed my pictures. I had an ok time on vacation but I would rather stay at home. It was a little stressful for me. My foster family tried to make things as easy for me as possible. I am a homebody. I would prefer to stay home and curl up with you while you read a good book. Wanna cuddle?

See you soon,

Monica B- glad to B home!

Vacation!

Hi Friends,

I am about to embark on another journey...VACATION! My foster mom is taking me to Greyhounds Reach the Beach in Dewey. She says I will have "restrictions." No shopping, no crowds, and no parties for me. I am allowed to hang out in the beach house and take nice long walks on the beach, sounds good to me. I can tell she is a little worried about me so I hope I can prove to her what a brave girl I am becoming. I will tell you all about it when I return, wish me luck!

The journey continues...

If you could be a fly on the wall in our house during the day, you would not know this girl has any issues. If it is just me at home, she is at my feet. If it is just my daughter and I, she is usually wandering around the house. If my husband happens to be home she spends more time out of sight. If my son is home too, she is outta here completely, in the kennel at all times. She will take food from him and he has pet her once or twice but she doesn't want anything to do with him. She has a great personality, is very sweet and loving, and no trouble at all. She is still really uncomfortable around men.
She is your typical greyhound when she is in her comfort zone. She loves to play with and collect stuffies. The other day she helped herself to a pile of socks waiting to be folded. She just took them back to her crate. She play bows at me almost every morning, after she has rested her head on the bed. She stares me in the face, telling me the alarm clock is going off for the 4th time. She follows me around, swatting me on the back of the legs if she is feeling playful. Monica is a great dog, she just needs time to get comfy.

B IS for Brave!!!

Monica is really coming around. She recently stayed with a friend while we went on vacation. She was nervous at first but after a few days she was laying on the floor cuddling, playing with toys, and even coming when she was called. Way to go Monica!! She was more nervous around the man of the house, and she took a while to warm up to my husband too. She will need a little extra attention by any males in her new adoptive family. Once you win her over, she will be your best buddy.

Monica took on a new challenge this morning. She taught herself the basement stairs! She has been zooming up and down them for the last 30 minutes. She is a very brave girl.

I went to the beach! I had a great time and did really well. Here are some pictures for you to enjoy!

This is me and my buddy Zoey wading in the water.
Phew! Crabs are smelly, especially the dead ones!

Time out! All this adventure is wearing me out!

I hope you enjoyed the pictures. See you soon.

Too comfortable, NO WAY!

Yo!

Monica the Brave here. I have had an uneventful week. My foster mom went away for a few days and I was left home with the foster dad and the kid. I was ok with them, I wanted my mom at first, but I adjusted. I adjusted so well that when my foster mom finally came home I was a little afraid of her. Not for long she says, about 15 minutes. She told me to stop being silly and I recognized her "tone." She always talks to me that way when I am acting weird.
The foster family seems to think I am doing so well and have relaxed so much around the house that they need to drag me out in public again. Tonight we are going to Petsmart, Saturday we are going to the Peach Festival, and goodness knows what they are planning for Sunday! Time to put on my brave face and venture out into the world.
Maybe I need a cape, it seems to work for that man in the blue leotards. How about a cloak of bravery? Hmmm...I will have to talk to my foster peeps about this.

Peas out!
